The popularity of the Boyce Moto Meter brought about a number of different competitors. A few, such as Stewart Warner, did not make very many of their own temperature indicating devices before being sued by the Moto Meter Company for patent infringement. A few other companies did, however, manufacture their own competing products. Some of these included the Moore Semaphore, The Benson, The Gidelite, the Arrometer, and the Motor Eye.  However, the total product of all of these companies put together never came near to the millions of Boyce meters manufactured by the Moto meter Company.
